What we collect
- The order: their name (and how to say it), your name, the relationship, the occasion, the song language and voice.
- Your story: the memories you write. If you speak instead of typing, your phone turns it into text and we keep only the words, never the audio.
- Your contact: your email address. That’s where your receipt and order updates go. We don’t ask for your phone number.
- Payment records: the amount, the payment reference and the invoice. The payment provider handles your card or UPI details; we never see them.
- Technical basics: your country (for the price and tax) and time zone (for the 15-day clock and reminder dates). Site analytics are counted without personal details.
We don’t collect anything from the person the song is for. They never sign up and we never message them.
Why we use it
- To write, check and record your song, and deliver it to you.
- To send your receipt and order updates by email, and reminders you turned on.
- To help you when you ask, and to handle complaints, reports and payment disputes.
- To keep tax and accounting records the law requires.
AI processing
When you pay, you agree that your story is processed by AI models to write the lyrics and record the songs. We use paid business services for this, not free consumer tools: Anthropic (Claude) writes and checks the lyrics, and Google (Lyria) records the music. We don’t use your story for anything else.
Who else handles it
Only the services we need to run Sing A Wish, each for its own part. We never sell your data.
- Email: Zoho ZeptoMail sends our emails.
- Lyrics: Anthropic (Claude) writes and checks them.
- Music: Google (Lyria) records the songs.
- Hosting: Vercel runs the website and stores the recordings.
- Database: Neon stores your order.
- Payments: Razorpay (India) or Stripe handle the payment itself.
We don’t use WhatsApp or any Meta service to contact you, and we don’t share your details with social networks.
How long we keep it
- Story, lyrics and recordings: deleted at 23:59 on day 15 after delivery, in your time zone.
- Evidence record, 18 months: which version of the terms you accepted and when, a fingerprint of the approved lyrics, and delivery and download logs. Card disputes can arrive months later.
- Invoices: for as long as Indian tax law requires.
- An open dispute, grievance or legal notice can pause deletion for that order until it is closed.
- Songs you chose to share in the public gallery stay while they are public. You can take them down any time.
On your phone
Your draft and the list of songs you made are saved on your phone so nothing gets lost. If you log in with your email, we set one cookie to keep you logged in for 30 days. We don’t use advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and withdraw consent for anything optional, such as reminders. Ask through the Help form or at hello@singawish.com. We answer within a month. These rights come from India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act and, where it applies, the GDPR.
Age
You must be 18 or over to buy. Songs can be for children, but songs for children are never listed in the public gallery.
